RS-485, also known as TIA-485(-A)EIA-485, is a standard defining the electrical characteristics of drivers and receivers for use in serial communications systems. Electrical signaling is balanced, and multipoint systems are supported. The standard is jointly published by the Telecommunications Industry Association and Electronic Industries Alliance (TIA/EIA). Digital communications networks implementing the standard can be used effectively over long distances and in electrically noisy environments. Multiple receivers may be connected to such a network in a linear, multidrop bus. These characteristics make RS-485 useful in industrial control systems and similar applications.

Specification

The M201E provides a single output that can be switched when commanded by a fire alarm control panel. In the supervised mode, the M201E supervises the wiring to the load devices. Upon command from the fire alarm control panel, the M201E switches an external power supply to operate these devices, while de-activating the load supervision.

The module raises an unlatched fault condition if the external power supply voltage falls below the fixed threshold. In the unsupervised mode, the M201E provides one set of form C changeover contacts and does not provide load nor power supply supervision. The M201E has built-in short circuit protection for the communications loop, which may be selected/deselected to meet the specific requirements of each installation.

NOTIFIER's offers a variety of intelligent monitor modules for diverse applications. Monitor modules supervise a circuit of dry-contact input devices, such as conventional heat detectors and pull stations, or monitor and power a circuit of two-wire smoke detectors. Monitor modules model numbers include the FMM-1, FMM-101, FZM-1 and FDM-1.

Note: LPG is heavier than air. It has tendency to settle down. Hence, when you are using
LPG cylinder, TrueSafe must be installed at 30cm height from the floor

1. It can be mounted on the front door of kitchen cabinet of the LPG Cylinder. This will enable detection of gas leak from the cylinder as well as the gas stove.

2. If it is mounted behind gas cylinder, the cabinet for the gas must have grills to detect gas leak from the gas stove also. Please refer the following diagram

4. Locations to be avoided for installing TrueSafe
• Very near to exhaust fan
• By the side of a door or window
• In an enclosed space: Many times, LPG detector is mounted on the wall, behind the LPG cylinder, under the kitchen platform with the door without grill. This creates confined space around the detector and cylinder, regulator and tube connecting it. In such case, detector will effectively detect LPG leaks happening only in this confined space. If there is LPG leak from the gas stove because of either faulty connection to the tube or by leaving gas burner ON accidently without flame, LPG may not reach the confined area near the cylinder where LPG detector is installed and LPG detector may not detect such leaks as gas molecules do not reach the sensor. To avoid this, install as per Fig-1 or Fig-2 above.

MI-LPB2-S2I is an addressable reflector-type linear optical beam smoke detectors designed to operate as a component of an intelligent fire alarm system. They operate primarily on the principle of light obscuration utilising an Infra-Red
beam. Optical beam smoke detectors are particularly appropriate for protecting buildings with large open spaces such as warehouses, atriums etc.

The MI-LPB2-S2I is a combined transmitter/receiver units that can be directly connected to an analogue loop circuit. The Infra-Red transmitter generates a beam of light towards a high efficiency reflector. The reflector returns the beam to the receiver where an analysis of the received signal is made. The change in the strength of the received signal is used to determine the alarm condition.

Alignment of the detector is simplified with the aid of the detector’s “gunsight” targeting device. Alignment of the detector with the reflector can then be “fine tuned” with the aid of a numerical signal strength indicator.

The sensitivity of the detector can be set to between 25% and 50% obscuration, providing application flexibility to suit the environment in which the detector will be installed.

In addition to the four fixed value alarm thresholds, there are two variable thresholds that automatically compensate for changes in the environment which could otherwise result in unwanted alarms while remaining within a known sensitivity range.

The detector incorporates automatic drift compensation, whereby the detector will adjust its detection thresholds in line with any long term signal reduction of the beam caused by contamination of the optical surface. The detector can be adjusted up to 10° vertically and horizontally for alignment. Where greater angular adjustment is required, the multi-mount accessory enables the detector to move through 28° vertically and 360° horizontally when ceiling mounted or up to 23° vertically and 90° horizontally when wall mounted.

The Morley-IAS repeaters are compact remote control
units for Morley-IAS intelligent multi protocol fire alarm
control panels.
These units, along with other I/O peripheral devices and
the external printer further enhance the flexibility and
functionality of our fire alarm control panel range.
The repeaters provide an extension to the operation
of the fire alarm control panel. There are two types
available – passive with indications only and no controls,
or active with both controls and indicators. Both display
the operational state of the control panel using the 80
character LCD display and the 7 LED status indicators.
In addition to the general status indicators the Active
repeater is fitted with key operated “Access Enable”
switch for the control functions. Individual buttons are
provided for System Reset, Mute, Accept, Sound Alarms,
Silence/Re-sound Alarms and Self test. Thus enabling
control functions to be duplicated in strategic locations
around the installation.
The Active repeater includes an integral self test
sequence guiding the operator through a preset
sequence to test the functionality of the control buttons,
key-switch and display indicators.
Each repeater is connected to the Morley-IAS fire alarm
control panels using the RS485 peripheral data port as
shown in the schematic overleaf. A maximum of 31 active
repeaters can be connected to the peripheral data port.
The fire alarm control panel supervises the connection
between itself and the repeater, proving the integrity of
the cabling and indicating faults both on the repeater and
the fire alarm control panel.
Passive repeaters are not supervised, but a loss of
communication with the fire alarm control panel will be
indicated on the passive repeater.
The repeater requires an external power supply of
+24Vdc (nominal) to operate. Power may be taken from
the auxillary supply of the control panel or from any other
suitable dc power supply.

heat detector is a fire alarm device designed to respond when the convected thermal energy of a fire increases the temperature of a heat sensitive element. The thermal mass and conductivity of the element regulate the rate flow of heat into the element. All heat detectors have this thermal lag. Heat detectors have two main classifications of operation, “rate-of-rise” and “fixed temperature”. The heat detector is used to help in the reduction of damaged property. It is triggered when temperature increases.
