proximity card or prox card is a “contactless” smart card which can be read without inserting it into a reader device, as required by earlier magnetic stripe cards such as credit cards and “contact” type smart cards. The proximity cards are part of the contactless card technologies.
The ProxPro® proximity card reader’s weatherproof design and architecturally attractive enclosure allows easy mounting indoors or out. The ProxPro Reader is ideal for applications requiring a larger read range.

Open Architecture – Development platform enables use of hardware with any OPIN compliant access control software from a wide variety of partners. Two Reader Support – To protect two doors with a single reader, or in/out reading on a single door.
An electromagnetic lockmagnetic lock, or maglock is a locking device that consists of an electromagnet and an armature plate. There are two main types of electric locking devices. Locking devices can be either “fail safe” or “fail secure”. A fail-secure locking device remains locked when power is lost. Fail-safe locking devices are unlocked when de-energized. Direct pull electromagnetic locks are inherently fail-safe. Typically the electromagnet portion of the lock is attached to the door frame and a mating armature plate is attached to the door. The two components are in contact when the door is closed. When the electromagnet is energized, a current passing through the electromagnet creates a magnetic flux that causes the armature plate to attract to the electromagnet, creating a locking action. Because the mating area of the electromagnet and armature is relatively large, the force created by the magnetic flux is strong enough to keep the door locked even under stress.

biometric device is a security identification and authentication device. The AC-825IP is a state-of-the-art 4-door networked access controller and is the backbone of a medium-scale to high-scale security system. The controller comes with one onboard expansion slot and can be further expanded by connecting up to 12 expansion boards via OSDP. Using only D-805 door expansion boards, a single AC-825IP can handle up to 58 doors and 60,000 users. RS-485, also known as TIA-485(-A)EIA-485, is a standard defining the electrical characteristics of drivers and receivers for use in serial communications systems. Electrical signaling is balanced, and multipoint systems are supported. The standard is jointly published by the Telecommunications Industry Association and Electronic Industries Alliance (TIA/EIA). Digital communications networks implementing the standard can be used effectively over long distances and in electrically noisy environments. Multiple receivers may be connected to such a network in a linear, multidrop bus. These characteristics make RS-485 useful in industrial control systems and similar applications.
